Research Interests:

Founding my research work on the fundamental presuppositions of the "Austrian" school of economics, I examine why some firms have greater capacity to compete more aggressively and gain competitive advantages. Specifically, I explore how 1) entrepreneurial abilities and 2) the relational context in which a firm is embedded influence capacity of firms to outcompete rivals. My empirical findings support the proposition that firms with "entrepreneurial orientation" have greater capacity to compete aggressively, which in turn positively affects performance. In addition, my research work suggests that the relational context in which a firm is embedded influences the range of entrepreneurial opportunities available to a firm. My recent empirical findings show that firms with access to more diverse knowledge and information are more capable of 'surprising' rivals with greater number and variety of newly created competitive moves, such as introduction of new products, improvements of current products, innovative marketing campaigns, or price cuts and sale incentives.
