| Instructors: Stathis Mainas |
Location: TBA |
This is a one-day workshop that will make the case for social network analysis (SNA) as a principal approach for the analysis and investigation of criminal and terrorist networks. The instructor will employ a conceptual analytical framework, which has been tested and validated in a criminal intelligence analysis environment, to show how SNA can be put into practice to produce useful, actionable intelligence. Participants will also be given the opportunity to practice using real, albeit sanitized (coded), datasets from investigations against organised crime and terrorism in Europe. The workshop will further understanding on the application of network concepts and techniques that can give a clear benefit to law enforcement, military and intelligence agencies. The workshop will be delivered by Stathis Mainas, a senior analyst working at Europol (European Police Office).
