UCINET

Workshop participants should bring their own Windows-running laptops. At the workshop, we will install the latest versions of UCINET and NETDRAW. If you are not a registered user of UCINET, the software will expire after the workshop. If you want to download this software ahead of time (always a good idea in order to make sure it runs on your system, and that you have sufficient rights to install it), just go to:

The NetDraw software is automatically installed when you install UCINET.

STOCNET/SIENA

If you are signed up for the stochastic modeling session, you will also be using the free SIENA software. You should download the software in advance of the workshop. Here are instructions:

Step 1. Download the Stocnet program from here:

This is a program that has a lot of different functions, and it provides an environment for the SIENA program. In fact, it will install a version of SIENA but unfortunately not necessarily the latest version.

Step 2. Download the latest version of the SIENA program from here:

http://stat.gamma.rug.nl/snijders/siena_l_exe_025w.zip

This is a zip file. Simply unpack the files in the .zip file and copy them to the folder on your computer that contains Stocnet. This will overwrite the older version of SIENA that was installed with Stocnet.

Step 3. Optionally, download the SIENA manual from here:
